A splendid religious painting depicting a classic subject of Christian art: the Madonna with Child Jesus and the Infant Saint John the Baptist.

The Virgin Mary is positioned on the right, tenderly observing the two children. She wears a light red robe covered by a green and brown cloak. Her right hand is raised in a protective blessing. The Infant Jesus is seated in the center on his mother's lap. He is completely naked and turns toward the Infant Saint John, holding him tenderly. Saint John the Baptist is on the left, characterized by a darker complexion, embracing Jesus and returning his gaze. The composition is very classical and typical of this religious depiction. The pictorial quality is good, with strong chiaroscuro contrasts between the dark background and the illuminated bodies in the foreground. The brushstrokes are soft on the children's faces and curly hair. The style strongly reflects the Baroque painting tradition of the Italian school.
