A finely crafted 19th-century Italian Grand Tour table box, combining classical intaglio decoration with luxurious gilt-decorated leather binding in the tradition of antique book craftsmanship. The rectangular box measures 6.25 inches wide, 4.25 inches deep, and 2.5 inches high and is designed with a glazed display lid revealing two classical plaster intaglio medallions mounted within an elaborate silver framework.

Inside the lid, two raised plaster medallions—after classical Roman portrait gems—are presented within circular silver mounts resembling miniature presentation frames or hat-form bezels. These are connected by delicate silver chains and ornamental rosettes, forming a symmetrical decorative arrangement that recalls the jewelry-like presentation of Grand Tour souvenirs. The silver elements are finely worked with beaded borders, engraved ornament, and small floral devices, emphasizing the neoclassical taste that dominated souvenir production for travelers visiting Rome, Florence, and Naples during the 18th and 19th centuries.

The box itself is covered in gilt-decorated marbled leather, executed using traditional bookbinding techniques.
