This enamel on copper painting by artist Dom Mingolla captures the intensity of a horse race through it's dynamic composition, showing two horse neck and neck in a vibrant burst of action.
The artist uses a striking color palette, particularly the bright blue and streaky yellow sky, which adds a powerful sense of speed and drama to the scene.
The horses are rendered with the muscular detail, and the jockeys' determined postures further enhance the feeling of the competitive energy.
