An Exceptional "As-Found" Survival of 1920s American Toy Manufacturing
Offered is an antique cast iron Ford Model A Coupe manufactured by the renowned Arcade Manufacturing Company of Freeport, Illinois, circa late 1920s to early 1930s. This is the scarcer 5-inch mid-size variant that masterfully captures the classic lines of the 5-window Model A coupe, complete with a beautifully molded visor, distinct cowl lines, and an integrated rear spare tire profile.
While standard black finishes dominate the early Arcade catalog, this example features its lesser-seen, vibrant factory-original green paint. The toy has been left in strict, untouched "as-found" condition, retaining an honest, time-earned patina that serious collectors demand.
The toy is structurally pristine and completely free of chips, cracks, welds, or structural breaks. The body is cast in a two-piece left/right halves design joined by its original internal hardware. The undercarriage is crisply embossed with "ARCADE" on the interior right frame lip and "FREEPORT, ILL" on the left frame lip. The internal factory mold marks "8 S" and "9 S" are cleanly legible on the inner walls. The vehicle retains its original bright nickel-plated cast iron spoked wheels turning smoothly on original steel axles.

Authenticity Assessment
This specimen exhibits all the definitive markers of a genuine, period-correct Arcade production. The casting demonstrates sharp, distinct interior embossing with standard period lettering formats for "ARCADE" and "FREEPORT, ILL." The parting seams show the correct, subtle variations of early hand-fitted manufacturing, completely distinct from the uniform, gritty edges found on modern modern recasts. Furthermore, the weight density, the tight tolerance of the original axle pins, and the natural, layered oxidation pattern between the base iron and the enamel layer provide ironclad confirmation of its 1920s origin.
