Model LT326 by Carlo Mason for Mazzega c. 1972 Italy. A commanding and enchanting lamp by arguably one of Italy’s greatest glass blowers. So complex are some of his creations that they have never been able to replicate the designs. In an interview with Nason, he stated that he himself did not remember how some of them were made!

Beyond that, this lamp represents everything cool about Italy, modernism, and the space age aesthetic. It is hand blown, in small numbers, and this particular model was discontinued rather quickly. The four separate glass cones are mounted to a metal ring with dowels that insert into the separate metal base. It’s as much sculpture as it is light. The opalescence is stunning!
