Rich in symbolic imagery and layered narrative fragments, the work draws on childhood memories of Glasgow’s East End, recalling woodland exploration, familial closeness, and the heightened atmosphere of dream states.

Figures, flowers, and surreal animal forms drift through the composition in a fluid, psychologically charged arrangement. Robertson balances delicacy and unease through expressive mark-making and luminous passages of colour, allowing the painting to oscillate between nostalgia, longing, and playful irreverence.
