Antique JCB James Clews Birmingham brass toddy kettle, estimated late 19th to early 20th century, likely circa 1880s to 1920s. This charming English kettle has a rounded brass body with coppery warmth, a curved spout, small raised feet, and a beautiful amber glass handle that gives the piece a distinctive old-world look.
The underside is marked JCB, associated with James Clews of Birmingham, England, a maker known for brassware, kettles, candlesticks, bells, and other household metalwares. This form is often referred to as a toddy kettle, traditionally used for hot water when making hot toddies, tea, or other warm drinks.
Today, it is best suited as a decorative antique piece. It would look beautiful styled on a kitchen shelf, bar cart, hutch, mantel, or in an English cottage, traditional, rustic, or collected vintage interior. The mix of aged brass, warm copper tones, and amber glass gives it wonderful patina and display presence.
This piece has not been tested for use with liquids and is being sold as decorative only.
