The lamp's unique feature is the use of millefiori glass. This elaborate technique involves first fusing different colored glass rods into a pattern and then cutting them into small discs called murrines. These colorful discs are then applied to the glass bulb and fused together when the shade is inflated. The result is an extremely finely crafted, organic structure that, in the light, resembles the pattern of a butterfly's wing. The lamp is double-walled: the white inner wall ensures perfect light reflection, while the outer wall glows in warm orange and brown tones. When switched off, the glass appears deep and dark; when switched on, it unfolds a vibrant orange with subtle green-yellow nuances. The lamp has been fully restored. Since the original socket with the trademark no longer met modern safety standards, we have professionally replaced it. A new, matching orange textile cable adds a modern touch to this handcrafted, one-of-a-kind piece. We are happy to customize the cable to your specifications.
