The bright tropical pink drawing was created during a life drawing session with a live model. In the short time frame of model's pose, I seek to capture the essential energy and tension of the model. The drawing is on 100% cotton archival watercolor paper, unframed and suitable for matting and framing.

Last picture is the reverse side of the drawing showing some watercolor pencil lines of another sketch.

While living and working for a study abroad program in Italy for three years, contemporary artist Michelle Arnold Paine became fascinated by the shapes and forms of medieval architecture and art. It was in Italy that she found her vocation as an artist and also a connection to history and tradition.

After completing a Post-Baccalaureate Certificate from the School of the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston and a M.F.A. from University of New Hampshire she taught Drawing, Painting and Design for seven years at various colleges in New England.

She has exhibited in group shows and juried shows in commercial, community, non-profit and university spaces and across the United States. See less
