A striking example of mid-20th century Mexican modernism, this oil on canvas still life by Andres Molinares presents a lavish arrangement of tropical fruit with the bold, confident hand of an artist deeply rooted in the Mexican muralist tradition. A towering pineapple anchors the composition from above, its geometric scales rendered with graphic precision, while bunches of bananas cascade beside a pedestal compote overflowing with apples and peaches in warm reds, yellows, and oranges.
