Large modern brutalist metal urchin/sputnik sculpture manufactured by Global Views and executed with design elements inspired by the 1970s atomic space-age movement. The object is constructed out of radiating iron wire rods featuring hand-finished rounded corners, anchored securely to a solid marble block plinth base with an integrated felt bottom protection layer. In the style of Curtis Jere and Harry Bertoia who pioneered the production of multi-directional metallic pom-pom and sea urchin art pieces during the mid-century period. Great condition showing only minimal wear to metal commensurate with age - please see photos and video. Marble base shows wear on bottom. Display ready sculpture object.
