These pieces exemplify post-war folk art: rural workshops in the massif central region produced sturdy furniture for mountain bars and chalet interiors, in a distinctly vernacular style.

the seat is carved from a thick block of solid wood, with pronounced grain and a crisp edge. It rests on four legs made of peeled branches, preserved in their natural curve and joined with through tenons. A peripheral stretcher is positioned at footrest height. The stools have a consistent patina from use, with surface drying cracks and a waxed finish.
