It depicts the female harlequin, Pierette in strong Art Deco style dangling a similarly attired male harlequin, Pierrot. Her elaborately detailed costume reflects the deco style and coordinates with the little man. Pierrot and Pierrette are the harlequin characters often depicted in Art Deco imagery as the tragic lovers who could never really come together as a couple. This gorgeous bronze statue is signed on Pierrette's shoe, Pierre Laurel- standing on a beautiful red marble base. Provenance: The Edith Hale Harkness Estate See less
