This is a large painting 36" x 48" without frame. It is bright; it is colorful. It is all about hanging out in the neighborhood on a clear, spring day.
Rendered in bright primaries, the figures are both stylistic and realistic. George, the artist, is a master of the "gesture." Each figure is positioned in appropriate and believable poses. Standing figures appear relaxed as they pause on the street for conversation; walking figures actually appear to be in motion. Each figure is well proportioned and anatomically believable--even as the artist renders them in his signature fusion of abstraction blended with reality.
