Beautiful mid century solid rosewood occasional chairs on castors by Sergio Rodrigues. THESE are the chairs you’d want to play high-stakes poker in! They ooze quiet luxury and sophisticated money—very Brazilian cool. They come from the estate of world travelers (husband a lawyer, wife a teacher), and definitely sit more relaxed than a standard dining chair. Upholstery is in great condition.
This chair was created to furnish the Palacio dos Arcos Building (the famous one), Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in Brasilia and was published in the ’Móvel Brasileiro Moderno’ book. p. 243. Publisher Aeroplano; FGV Projetos, 2012.

There … moreThese chairs were reupholstered at some point. Upholstery remains in great condition. The solid rosewood construction exhibits beautiful grain. There is wear consistent with gentle use throughout— the worst of which is photographed. Some of the Rosewood exhibits mild sun bleaching. A few of the Rosewood plugs are missing— also photographed. This does not affect the function. - These chairs exhibit Brazilian construction of solid wood joinery. As such, a few of the chairs do creak a little bit. They do not wiggle. less
