"Tales in verse adapted from Le Moyen de parvenir, Paris 1874".
This is an 1874 French anthology published in Paris by Léon Willem. It is a rare collection of humorous, satirical tales written in poetic form. It compiles older works by various French writers (such as Autreau, Dorat, Grécourt, and Jean de La Fontaine) who adapted short stories from the 1610 satirical masterpiece Le Moyen de parvenir ("The Way to Succeed") by Béroalde de Verville.
This specific printing also includes later adaptations by authors like the Comte de Chevigné and Prosper Blanchemain (writing under the pseudonym Épiphane Sidredoulx). It was published by a member of the Société des Bibliophiles gaulois (a group of French book collectors).
