subject and style: the composition, with its majestic and refined orientalist influence, depicts a proud arab (or bedouin) hunter astride his steed. The rider, dressed in detailed traditional robes, advances proudly, holding a long, decorated rifle. The realism of the scene is exceptional, enhanced by the vivid and raw detail of the hunting spoils tied to the side of the saddle, masterfully sculpted from the material.

material and finish: it is cast entirely in heavy, solid bronze. The surface is embellished with a warm, deep dark patina that lends three-dimensionality and superbly highlights the animals' meticulous anatomical details, the folds of the fabrics, and the chiselled weapons. The complex figure rests on a naturalistic base simulating uneven rocky terrain, on which the sculptor's signature "de martino" is engraved.
