Executed in mahogany-stained and polished beechwood with original brass sabots, the table exemplifies the refined architectural and structural language associated with early twentieth-century Viennese design. The elegant construction is defined by balanced proportions, restrained geometry, and a striking curved underframe stretcher characteristic of the Vienna Secession movement and Jacob & Josef Kohn’s progressive furniture production.

The model is documented in the Jacob & Josef Kohn sales catalogue, 1916 edition (reprint Munich 1980), illustrated on page 76 as model no. 994. The table also retains its original Jacob & Josef Kohn label beneath the tabletop.

The design harmonizes closely with documented Vienna Secession seating models produced by Kohn during the same period and reflects the transition from historicist furniture toward architecturally conceived modern design.

The table retains its original extension system and extension leaves; however, the extension components currently require restoration before full functionality can be restored. The main table remains stable, highly decorative, and fully usable in its standard configuration.

Provenance: Acquired together with a matching Vienna Secession chair set and additional Jacob & Josef Kohn furniture from the same Viennese household, supporting its original suite relationship and historical continuity.
