Large medallion mirror in giltwood, napoleon iii style, late 19th century.
oval mirror with a carved and giltwood frame, featuring beautiful nuanced gilding with areas of patina and occasional glimpses of the original red gilt.
interior frieze of stucco beads, typical of napoleon iii decorative vocabulary. Slightly curved profile, balanced and understated decorative style for the period.
original wood parquet backing, traditional closed mounting with antique nails. Original hanging system still present.
condition: very good condition, with a lovely patina and some cracked beads.
