This style was popularized in … Read more A gorgeous, hand-carved antique table that will make the perfect accent piece for any space. This style was popularized in the 16th and 17th centuries, and consistently reproduced thereafter, making it difficult to determine the precise age. However, given the primitive construction and age that the piece shows, our expert estimated this table to date back to at least the late 19th century, possibly earlier. Please read below for more details on the condition.

- Cleated oblong top sits above two drawers with primitive, hand-hewn dovetail construction
- Lovely hand-carved pierced key pattern frieze with traditional animal carved detail
- Square legs with square pad feet & carved key detail
- Finished back makes piece suitable to be viewed from any angle

(Please Note: Detailed carving on trim does not continue all the way around the piece. The braces match the overall silhouette of the table, and so does not detract from the beauty of the piece.)

Condition:
Antique - Very Good
This piece is in great shape for its considerable age. Top shows some wear to finish, scuffs/scratches and and what appear to be a few small burn marks. Wood on bottom side of desk is unfinished and is somewhat brittle. As is common for older pieces, someone added several cross braces along bottom side to reinforce this old wood at some point. This reinforcement is not visible unless you're under the table-- see picture of underside and note lighter colored wood braces. The age of this modification is unknown, as the previous owner reported it was completed before the table came into her possession several decades ago. A small section of the carved detail on the left side also broke loose at some point and was glued back on.
