A pair of large intricately carved stone statues depicting Chinese court dignitaries or military officials in traditional flowing ceremonial robes with decorative patterns, elaborate scale armor and headdress and standing in a formal pose with hands clasped holding swords over their chests. These statues are known as Wengzhong and were traditionally placed along "spirit ways" leading to tombs to guard the deceased. No maker’s mark.
