Material: mahogany, mounted on a metal base. Dimensions of the sculpture without base: H 16 × 145 × 190 cm (6.3 × 57.1 × 74.8 in). Elvio Becheroni (b. 1934 Florence, d. 2000 São Paulo) was an Italian painter, sculptor, and designer. After his early years in Milan, he settled in Brazil in 1978. His works—including sculptures, paintings, and graphic art—were exhibited internationally. Deeply engaged with ecological concerns, Becheroni dedicated much of his artistic career to raising awareness about the destruction of the Amazon rainforest. See less
