The Base: This is the most distinctive element. The cubic shape is made of burl wood, recognizable by its dark, knotty grain. The alternation between the wood and the satin-finish brass bands creates a layered (striped) effect reminiscent of the luxurious style of the 1970s.
The Lampshade: It has a rectangular shape with rounded corners. The fabric is a rough, olive/forest green fabric, perfect for diffusing a warm, soft light, excellent for creating atmosphere.
Contrasts: The organic warmth of the wood marries the geometric coolness of the brass, creating an object that functions as a true luminous sculpture.
