Small trinket dish or tray made of petrified wood. Petrified wood is a fossilized form of wood (from the same family as magnolia) dating back 20 million years. Silica has replaced the wood fibers molecule by molecule, resulting in silicified wood. The fossilization process is slow, allowing the tree’s patterns to remain visible. Petrified wood is a noble material that falls between granite and precious stones. Beautiful organic fossilized details of the wood, a noble material that adds a touch of elegance.
