The weathered character and the paintings give the … Read more Antique bridal cabinet dating from around 1825, originating from Franconia, Southern Germany. The weathered character and the paintings give the whole piece an incredible appearance. Both the design of the cabinet and the painting are simple and primitive, yet a typical example of regional folk art. The cabinet is painted in a blue-green color with pink/red cloud motifs and colorful panels. The panels feature flowers and amphorae, among other things. The entire cabinet has been professionally inspected, preserving its originality and character. The construction is sturdy. The blue-green exterior was touched up in the past, and the interior is neatly lined with fabric. The interior includes two shelves added later. The cabinet closes with the original, imposing lock. Sporadic traces of old woodworm have been checked and treated. 191cm high, 140cm wide, 52cm deep. See less
