Göran Bäck (1923–2003) was one of Finland’s leading ceramic artists in the 20th century. He was part of the Nordic design tradition aiming for more beautiful every day goods for everybody. After working as a thrower at his sister’s pottery studio, Göran worked for the Arabia factory for more than 35 years. He was a prominent designer of table service models for series like Kultavanne, Pilvi, and Pop. Göran’s artistry is represented at numerous museums in the Nordic countries.
