It's a clippings compendium of news stories that quoted FAME MAGAZINE as a source in their coverage of mostly celebrity doings. Most of the stories were clipped by BURRELLE'S CLIPPING SERVICE of Livingston, New Jersey. This book was then sent to publicists, PR Departments at film studios and others in the business of celebrity to tout FAME'S influence.

FAME magazine was owned by its publisher, Steven Greenberg, and edited by Gael Love, who, not surprisingly, had previously worked on Andy Warhol's INTERVIEW magazine. In 1989 FAME notably published an unauthorized index to The Andy Warhol Diaries, but was beaten to publication by SPY magazine, which released its own index a month earlier. FAME had the same obsession with celebrity that Warhol himself evidenced with his INTERVIEW magazine.

Fame was published for two years, with its final Winter 1991 issue released at the end of 1990.
