Antique pair of Neoclassical style plaster corbel wall brackets, circa 1920. Decorative architectural corbels from a countryside farmhouse estate in Bucks County, Pennsylvania. They were used for decorative purposes to simulate structural support for a mantle, archway, doorway or to enhance beams on ceilings. The pair features fine symmetry and proportion with dimensional detail of scrolling acanthus leaf and traditional neoclassical embellishments. They display a naturally weathered patina due to age giving them the warmth of old-world character.
In addition to their original purpose, they may be used in a variety of ways as an interesting design element such as a unique sculptural piece, decorative doorstop or wall mounted display shelf. Great architectural artifacts offering a wonderful way to add distinction, layered aesthetic texture, depth and historical significance to your home's ambience making it like no other.
