This exceptional set of three (3) Imperial Russian 84 silver Kiddush beakers offers a rare "time-capsule" look into the evolution of a single prestigious firm. Produced by the workshop of Israel Zakhoder in Kiev, this group represents the transitional period of the company’s history through the turn of the century.
The set includes pieces spanning the three major hallmarking eras of the firm:
The Pre-Reform Era: One cup features the early Moscow/Regional marks (St. George) used before the 1899 uniform code.
The 1899-1908 Period: Featuring the left-facing Kokoshnik mark with the "AA" (Kiev) assay master's initials.
The Post-1908 "Heirs of Zakhoder" Era: Featuring the right-facing Kokoshnik mark used as the firm transitioned to Efim’s successors.
Each beaker is hand-engraved with "Niello-style" village architecture and scrolling foliate motifs. The graduation in hallmarks makes this an ideal "study set" for a collector interested in the technical history of Russian silversmithing and the Zakhoder family legacy.

Hallmarking Analysis
The "84" with Left-Facing Head (Kokoshnik): This is the 1899–1908 mark. The "AA" or "AH" next to the head is the Cyrillic district master’s mark (likely Ivan Ado or Aleksandr Romanov) for the Kiev assay office.
The "84" with Right-Facing Head: This is the 1908–1926 mark, indicating the later production period of the firm.
The "St. George" Mark
Makers: Zakhoder (active from 1892) and the Heirs of Zakhoder (post-1907/1908).
