The rug displays an unusual and sophisticated lattice design filled with stylized hooked and geometric floral motifs, enclosed within an elegant stepped prayer niche. The drawing is remarkably refined for a small-format Caucasian rug, with extraordinary precision and balance throughout the composition. The crisp ivory field creates dramatic contrast against the saturated reds, deep indigo blues, soft abrashed sky blues, and delicate rose and aubergine tones, all appearing to be derived from early natural vegetable dyes. The intricate border system, with its rhythmic angular motifs and finely articulated guard borders, further enhances the visual complexity and collector appeal of the piece.
