A significant find for the advanced cast iron automotive collector. This is the Rare 6-Inch "Deluxe" Scale Hubley Take-A-Part Roadster, a notably scarcer and more substantial version than the common 4-inch midget variations.
Produced in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, circa 1933, this specimen features the high-contrast Yellow and Black factory enamel. This Deluxe model is 100% complete, retaining the integrated rear trunk/spare tire component—the piece most frequently missing from this multi-part assembly. The toy utilizes the innovative internal tension rod system (patented by Joseph Koehl) allowing the car to be fully disassembled and reassembled without tools.
Color: Original high-gloss yellow body with black fenders, chassis, and bumper.
Markings: Bumper embossed "PAT 1895968" (Feb 7, 1933); Chassis embossed "1" and "2090"; Hood interior embossed "2093".
Wheels: Original white rubber tires on metal hubs.
Dimensions: Approximately 6" L x 2.5" W.
Weight: 15.3 oz.
Origin & Age
Manufacturer: Hubley Manufacturing Co.
Location: Lancaster, PA, USA.
Date: Circa 1933–1935.
Authenticity Assessment
This specimen is believed to be authentic. Key diagnostic markers include:
Casting Precision: Crisp, clean embossed numbering (2090/2093) and smooth interior walls indicative of Hubley’s high-pressure molding.
Paint UV/Wear Profile: The "alligatoring" of the black enamel and the specific oxidation of the lead-based yellow pigment are consistent with 1930s chemical compositions.
Hardware: The internal spring-loaded rod exhibits a natural, dark iron patina that cannot be replicated by modern acid-aging.

It retains a high percentage of its original factory paint with honest play-wear on the fender edges and high points. The cast iron is structurally perfect with no cracks, chips, or repairs. The take-apart mechanism remains fully functional with strong spring tension. The original white rubber tires are present but show heavy antique "crazing" and hardening consistent with nearly a century of age. less
