A thoughtfully assembled collection of four Japanese studio pottery yunomi cups, each hand-thrown with its own distinct silhouette, glaze movement, and surface character. United by an earthy palette and quiet restraint, the set embodies the tactile irregularity associated with wabi-sabi ceramics.
From volcanic glaze drips and sandy stoneware textures to expressive brushwork and the delicately rendered crane motif, every vessel carries a sculptural presence while remaining deeply functional. The varying forms create a collected-over-time feel that reads beautifully on open shelving, layered tablescapes, or within a tea ritual setting.
Several cups retain impressed maker’s marks to the underside. Acquired from a Japanese collectibles shop closure in Los Angeles.
A study in texture, imperfection, and organic form — equally at home in rustic interiors, Japandi spaces, or more minimal architectural settings.
