First introduced in 1963, Robin Day’s polypropylene chair was revolutionary as the first mass-produced plastic chair. The design features the instantly recognisable moulded shell with circular ventilation holes, making the chairs lightweight, comfortable and highly durable. These examples feature blue moulded polypropylene seats paired with black metal legs, creating a striking mid-century modern aesthetic. All three chairs are Hille stamped, confirming their authenticity and making them particularly desirable to collectors. Versatile and timeless, they work beautifully as dining chairs, desk chairs, studio seating or accent pieces in modern interiors.
