It measures 18.5” high X 15” wide, and framed under glass. It is in excellent condition. There is printed material of the artist on the backside of the painting.

Robert von Neumann was one of the most successful painters and influential teachers of the early twentieth century in Milwaukee. His work is an example of Social Regionalism which celebrated common people and humble scenes from everyday life, such as this colorful, lively composition. Von Neumann's artful treatment of the scene lends the fishermen a heroic quality and casts a noble light on their labor.

His work hangs in many important museums including the Smithsonian American Art Museum and the Gallery of Wisconsin Art Museum. And this painting would make a great addition to your home or office. See less
