Oscar Bach attributed gilded iron console with a black marble top and arched, beveled mirror, circa 1920. A gorgeous set inspired by Louis XV style showcasing incredible artistry. The console features an angular shaped marble top above a straight ornate frieze with an organized, reticulated design of medallions with a central flower and swinging foliate pendant. It is raised on acanthus-hipped and rope twist cabriole legs ending in scroll feet joined by a shaped stretcher adorned with a scroll bracket and a floral, acanthus leaf finial. The arched mirror has seven beveled panels following its curves along the edge creating a central panel. The black marble top is striking with swirling veins of white and gold declaring its rich, natural beauty.
This is an exceptional set which conveys lightness and movement with elegant curves and grace while displaying the intricate, delicate work of a master.
