Handcrafted from … Read more A stunning Brutalist metal sculpture by the noted New York artist Catherine James, professionally known as "Catti" (1940–2009).

Handcrafted from heavy-gauge metal, this piece captures the organic texture of a lily pad through industrial technique.

Signed by the artist on the reverse in her signature raised welded script.
The back also features her characteristic studio marks and a stylized "C" flourish.

The Lilly Pad has a heat patinated finish with vibrant green and TerracCotta colors.
Torch-cut edges and weld beads give it a raw, "Brutalist" look, characteristic of the 1960s-70s art movement.
20mm round metal balls are soldered on the back for feet and a 13mm hex nut is soldered next to each foot that you can run a heavy gauge wire to hang the Lily Pad. The placement of the hex nuts give you the flexibly to hang the sculpture in several variations.

Very reversible piece, Eye Catching as a wall hanging or striking as tabletop decorative dish or center-piece.
