This stunning architectural sculpture is a definitive piece of 1980s/90s modernism, crafted by the renowned duo Howard Leviton and Harvey Fishbein of Harvard Reflections. Measuring an impressive and rare 59" x 30", this expansive horizontal panorama captures the rhythmic, geometric power of an urban skyline that strongly evokes the iconic architecture of Chicago.
Visual Aesthetic:
The piece is a masterclass in depth and materiality. Utilizing varying layers of hand-cut mirrored relief, it creates a 3D "cityscape" that shifts and evolves depending on the light and your position in the room. The composition features towering structures reminiscent of the 333 W. Wacker, the AON Building and the John Hancock Center, rendered in a sophisticated palette of silvered mirror and smoky or bronze-tinted glass. These vertical "skyscrapers" are punctuated by the company's signature abstract gold and silver acrylic accents, simulating the glowing lights of a bustling metropolis at dusk.
It would have a major impact in any space.
At nearly five feet wide, this is not just a mirror—it is a statement wall installation. Its linear, architectural silhouette is perfect for a mid-century modern entryway, a penthouse living room, or positioned above a long credenza. The scale allows the viewer to feel as though they are looking out a high-rise window onto a cityscape.
This particular piece is in very good vintage condition, maintaining the crisp edges and brilliant reflectivity that define Harvard Reflections' craftsmanship. To find a work of this size without significant "silvering" or chips is increasingly difficult. As a hallmark of authenticity, it is signed and dated in the lower right hand corner, marking it as a genuine relic of New York’s high-end art-decor movement.
