The dynamic male athlete is depicted in classical Greek style (nude torso, shorts, sandals), standing triumphantly with right arm raised high holding a flaming torch, left hand holding a smaller torch/flame symbol – a direct reference to the first-ever Olympic torch relay introduced in 1936.

The circular black marble base features a gilt-bronze plaque engraved in Gothic script:
"Die Olympischen Spiele 1936 Berlin"
with the five interlaced Olympic rings.
