Litograph with motif from the Faroe Islands, made and signed by Jack Kampmann in 1974. The work is numbered 138 out of an edition of 250 and signed and dated in lead ‘1974’ by the artist. The work gives a good impression of the building style and colours of the Faroe Islands, an archipelago in the North Atlantic Ocean in the triangle Schotland, Norway and Iceland. The Faroe Islands are an autonomous part of the Kingdom of Denmark that don’t belong to the European Union. Kampmann used to live on the Faroe for over 15 years. pmann was also an active participant in the Kammeraterne (Colleagues) Association, a collective founded in 1934 by celebrated artists Albert Gammelgaard, Helge Nielsen, and Axel Skjelborg. From 1947 to 1961, Kampmann was a mainstay in their annual exhibitions, which contributed to his growing reputation as a painter of both technical mastery and deep emotional resonance.Jack Kampmann passed away on December 9, 1989, at the age of 75, leaving behind a legacy of strikingly original work that continues to resonate within the Danish art community and beyond.
