The column is capped with a rounded finial and transitions into a stepped collar that holds a large milk glass shade. The shade presents a soft, even glow when lit, its rounded profile contrasting against the rigid geometry of the cast structure. The rectangular mounting plate with exposed fasteners and the ribbed, arched support arm reinforce its civic, purpose-built design-form following function with just enough ornament to elevate its presence.
