These chests are made of wood clad with embossed brass (repoussé technique). Brass-clad firewood chest from the Netherlands. Fully clad with motifs from the Golden Age by David Teniers II. The inscription is legible on the lower left of the front. Typical motifs of the early 17th century, such as peasant dances, drinking parties, and card games, are immortalized in deep embossing with surrounding bands of foliage on this small piece. The chest was mounted with brass nails and is completely intact. Due to their decorative appearance, they are often used today as stylish storage chests for blankets, pillows, or as decorative furniture.
