Rare and beautifully refinished expandable teak dining table on split pedestal base by Karl Erik Ekselius for J.O. Carlssons Möbelindustri, made in Sweden c. 1960s.
A mainstay of Scandinavian mid century modern design, the pedestal base dining table is simple, stylish, and versatile. Central positioning of the base maximizes leg room for your guests, allowing the table to accommodate up to 10 people in fully expanded form.
Ekselius's design eschews the more commonly seen V-shaped base for a pair of T-shaped legs, making his rendition of the table instantly recognizable.
This collectible piece of Scandinavian design history is in excellent refinished condition with few if any traces of prior use.
This piece is unmarked. It is a 100% match in dimensions and build with marked versions we have seen, likely indicating an earlier date of production.
