A wonderful antique Heriz rug, hand woven circa 1920. The design features an unusual geometrical central medallion surrounded by stylised flowers and vines on a rich terracotta field and indigo border. A very decorative rug with great secondary colours of pinks, greens, golds and blues.
Size: 3.11m x 2.21m (10ft 2in x 7ft 3in)
This rug is in good condition with light, age related wear, very slightly heavier on the main field (see photos). Fringes and selvedges are secure and it has been professionally cleaned. It is not quite rectangular - it’s 2.14m wide at the top and 2.32m at the bottom.
