Originally used in the italian-speaking part of switzerland, specifically within the area served by the italian postal service, it embodies the clear, functional design language of government-issued furniture from the late 20th century. The compact, slightly rounded cube shape is defined by its characteristic red paintwork, the typical "poste" lettering, and the yellow front panel bearing "posteitaliane" – a highly recognizable visual appearance. Made from robust, thick-walled sheet steel, the body is designed for maximum resistance to weathering and vandalism.
