Unique piece: a marble sculpture composed of two elements, created by Robert Neuhauser in Switzerland around the mid-1980s.
Formed from two massive volumes with softened edges, the piece is structured by an irregular central fracture that separates the two blocks. This opening creates tension between the forms and reveals the contrast between polished surfaces and the raw break, exposing the material in its original state.
The marble, with its light, subtly veined hues, captures the light and emphasizes the softness of the volumes. The whole develops an organic and almost architectural vocabulary, characteristic of the artist's exploration of form and balance.
This sculpture belongs to the body of stone works developed by Neuhauser in the late 1980s, notably presented at the exhibition Arbeiten in Stein at the Sigristenkeller Gallery in Bülach in 1989.
