Beautiful vintage table lamp made in italy in the 1960s.
the frame is metal covered in cocoon spray-on plastic. In the united states, after world war ii, a new type of fiberglass-reinforced spray-on plastic coating called cocoon was invented to protect disarmed warships. This innovative material was imported to italy by arturo eisenkeil, a small manufacturer from merano, which used this resin to make lampshades and then put it on the market.
