Produced in vietri in the early 1990s, it comprises four parts: the upper decoration, the front panel, the basin, and the pedestal. Featuring bright, vibrant colors that blend into various shades of green and ochre, the fountain showcases an elaborate artistic design. A striking decorative element is the lion's head carved in high relief on the vertical panel, its bronze finish accentuating the mane. Above and below the lion's head are two fan-shaped or shell-shaped decorations in ochre tones. The large basin, also in the same color, is sharply highlighted by the forest green of the surface. The stand is decorated with festoon and chain motifs that complete the monumental aesthetic of the piece. Vietri glazed terracotta, commonly known as vietri ceramics, is a masterpiece of campanian craftsmanship rooted in a millennia-old past. It is neither simple terracotta nor porcelain, but belongs to the family of artistic glazed ceramics: the hand-shaped clay undergoes an initial firing, then is coated with a white vitreous glaze that makes it waterproof and shiny. Painted decorations are then applied, followed by a second firing at around 1000°c to fix the vibrant colors.
