WWII narrative battle scene folk art painting, signed Gilbert W. Schuett. Artwork is 16x20, in glass frame.
This is a detailed retrospective of a specific moment from his service: September 1943 at the Caserta Air Strip in Italy. The painting shows P-51 Mustang fighters taking off over a coastal landscape, captured in a charming, naive style that focuses on the action of the air strike.
