Large antique Japanese bamboo storage trunk with hinged lid, brass latch, brass ring handles, and bamboo frame trim. Dark ebonized woven bamboo in a herringbone pattern. Tapered form wider at top than base. Great as a blanket chest, laundry hamper, or statement storage piece.
Measures 22" inches tall x 19" inches wide x 12" inches deep.
Good antique condition with heavy patina consistent with age. Small area of damage/broken weave on one corner of lid. Brass hardware intact and functional — hinges, latch, and ring handles all present. Structurally sound.
