An exceptional pair of late 19th-century neoclassical garden troughs, recently rescued from a historic estate in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. These planters represent a quintessential Southern garden aesthetic, featuring a robust cast stone (concrete) construction. Over the decades, they have developed a magnificent, authentic weathered patina that only comes with age and exposure to the elements.
The architectural design is anchored by a prominent Greek Key (meander) border along the rim, as seen in photos. This is complemented by a deep bas-relief of grape clusters and sprawling vine leaves along the body, visible in both photos. This classical iconography, combined with the elongated trough form, makes them a versatile and timeless addition to any outdoor space or architectural landscape.
As part of the **Revive** collection, these pieces are curated with a focus on architectural salvage and furnishings with distinct estate provenance.
